Yes.  One reason for the lightweight materials is so that they can be easily lifted and moved if physical access to the meter is required by the utilities or the homeowner.  Also the perforations and openings allow for direct electronic reading of the meters by the utilities by simply driving by and taking the readings without having to move the planter.

Yes. According to the gas and electric utilities the meters can be covered or housed if certain criteria are met. In order to meet those criteria the utility worker has to be able to physically access the meter.  The need to physically access the meter is so rare as to be essentially never.  The most important type of access is sending and receiving a clear signal.  Transparency to remote meter reading is built into the design. 

Yes, we have personally met with and spoken with both the legal and engineering departments of the gas (PGW) and electric (PECO) utilities in Philadelphia PA to get approval and followed their specific criteria, specifications and requirements. 

Both the Philadelphia utilities companies, (PECO and PGW), know this is a visual problem and they’ve been looking for a solution.  They have heard from frustrated homeowner and understand that this is a visual problem.   Many homeowners are attempting to come up with home made solutions, some made of wood, which is flammable and not ventilated, and that is problematic.   After we met with the utility companies, they gave us the go ahead as long as we met their criteria. 

Absolutely, This is the main reason we are so successful! The materials used in our applications hold up no matter what season it is. They handle extreme temperatures, offer UV Protection, are salt spray resistant and will not crack or become brittle from freeze/thaw cycles. We also have no plastics in our planters that can become rigid or breakdown.

We use a high-density EPS core that gives the planter its insulated quality and durability for  daily temperature extremes. Our planters are rated up to 150 degrees, so please keep planters 5’ away from heat sources like fire pits and barbecue grills. It self-extinguishes when flame is removed.
